About your instructor:
Hi! I'm an approved driving instructor (ADI) based in Leicester, I cover both test centres (Wigston and Cannock Street). I keep the lessons as professional as possible yet friendly and not intrusive while trying to keep a comfortable environment in the car providing you both the time and space to safely focus on your driving. Nevertheless, I'm going to write a few things about my background as I get frequently asked.
My name is Mohamed Riaz, mainly known by Riaz, I'm a father of two grown-ups, I was born in Mozambique in 1974, my first language being Portuguese, my mother language Gujarati, and I speak some Hindi/Urdu although I prefer to teach in English. Back then I used to ride a bicycle and a motorbike and moved to the UK in 1995. That's when I started my driving lessons and passed my UK driving test later that year and have been driving since then mainly around the South East, Berkshire, the Cotswolds, the Midlands, and of course Leicester where I settled in 2011 as my family had been living here from 1997. Over the years, I've been told that I have a good eye for detail and that I was a good driver which is what led me to consider becoming a driving instructor from 2011 and began my training which span nearly a hundred hours and at times was supervised while instructing and eventually became an ADI. This is when I joined a well established franchised driving school, teaching manual driving lessons, and after some time joined a different driving school. Since the COVID lockdown I decided to go on my own and switched from manual to automatic. When I conduct driving lessons, for example, I always try to provide client-centered teaching/learning. In the first lesson I tend to apply the kinesthetic approach (both auditory and visual) as standard until we find the method that works best for you.
Automatic driving lessons are getting increasingly more popular.
No stalling or rolling back on hills.
No clutch or gear lever to coordinate.
Two pedals are operated by one foot only which eliminates confusion.
More time to concentrate on controlling the vehicle.
More time to develop judgement of speed and steering skills.
More time available to concentrate on reading the road, signs, markings and any developing/potential hazards.
Less tiring, less distracting, get to the practical test standard quicker!
Better suited to the stop/start of town and city driving.
There is a small price difference between automatic and manual cars.
Most cars come with an option of an automatic gearbox nowadays.
Present and future electric cars are best suited for automatic gearboxes.

Continuity of driving lessons is important and we recommend that you have between 2 and 4 hours per week. You will also progress much quicker if you have two hour lessons each time. The minimum that we can provide is 1 and a half hours.
The number of lessons required varies from student to student and is dependent on many factors, such as availability, age, learning style or any previous road experiences (motorbikes, bicycles or simply as a passenger in a vehicle).
Please enquire.
No, and in fact it may be better to learn the theory whilst having practical lessons. You will, however, need to pass the theory test before applying for the practical test.
You can either pay by wire transfer or cash.
